i have been promising caleb a new knitted hat for almost year now. i started seriously working on it while he was in the hospital for his second surgery in june. i figured it would give me something to do while i waited. well, it is almost two months later and i finally finished it last night. (i have been a little distracted with other projects in the mean time...)

here are some pictures of my darling man modeling his new hat for me! i hope you enjoy!!

a new tote...

so, when i said in my last post that i would be posting a project a day...i really meant every couple of days...or so...hey, stuff happens. but here i am again with a new project to share.

i am making amy butler's travel day tote. it is a pattern included with her softwares. i bought some really cute fabric at the cabbage rose last week and just knew that some of it needed to be a new bag for me!

here are some pictures for your enjoyment...

this is me getting ready to start...on monday mind you...i was so slow on this one, but i finally have all of my pieces cut out and have ironed all of my interfacing where it should go..what progress!!

both of these fabrics are by michael miller. the pink is for the exterior and the birdies are for the lining...i just &hearts little birdies!!

this fabric is for a bow that i am going to tie around one of the handles for a little something extra. this is not part of the amy butler pattern but i decided that it would be fun! this fabric is actually some from my stash that i bought last fall at hobby lobby. it is by brother sister design studio.

hopefully, i will have some pictures of the completed project to display this weekend...i hope.

until then...i am off to first friday knitting!

look ma! i'm posting...

i am such a bad blog owner!! i have left this poor little thing all to its lonesome for so many months! well, i am back from the land of grad school and the cpa exam. i might be pulled back into cpa exam land, but until i find out my score i am going to pretend like i passed and enjoy this time.

i have lots of projects going on. i am going to try and post one a day to see if i can get this little blog rolling again...

the first is a baby blanket that i am making for our new little niece. she came into this world on july 16, 2009. although i am a little late, this blanket will be nice and comfy for the winter.

the pattern is jared flood's new tweed baby blanket. i used the recommended yarn from knit picks and was surprised at how soft and yummy the yarn was for such a small price.

i am currently about 3/4 of the way through the center square. i am hoping to complete it at the First Friday dinner this weekend. only time will tell.

here are some pics of the progress so far...
